The service and evacuation gallery was opened in 2013 to comply with European Directive 2004/54/CE. It was built parallel to the main tunnel route on the north side with openings to the Grau Roig and Pas de la Casa valleys. It has 11 interconnecting galleries every 250 m approximately.
Access is via pressurised chambers equipped with security doors.
It has SOS posts, cameras and a PA system.
